Mediterranean Remodel

Originally, this Mediterranean-style home had a dark, dank Lower Level with Garage, a chopped-up Main Level, and a cramped Upper Level with two bedrooms and a bath. The clients wished to open the spaces for greater connectiveness, light and flow.

Working around the original, three-level stair as a core, the resultant spaces feel light, airy and comfortable. The Lower Level has new windows and functionality with a playroom, two bedrooms, two baths and a garage space that doubles as a home gym. Spaces on the Main Level were re-organized for better access to the rear yard and an abundance of natural light from existing and new windows. A new skylight in the Main Stair illuminates the upward transition to an efficient, light-filled and roomy Upper Level Primary Suite. Special attention was paid to the textures, materials, scaled details, flow of spaces and custom cabinetry to make the most of this home.
